Murder on the Menu: 3rd Course of a popular book discussion series, co-sponsored by the Southington Library and the Calendar House Senior Citizen Center, led by Patricia D'Ascoli will be held on Wed. Nov. 5th, , 2:30 to 4:00 pm at Southington Library. This session's book: "Blood Orange Brewing" by Laura Childs. Special refreshments made by the staff of The Orchards. Registration required. SeniorNet Clubs normally meet Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 pm: Genealogy: Wed. Dec. 3rd at 1 pm; Financial Investments: Dec. 10th at 1 pm; Digital Photo: Dec. 17th at 1 pm; Computer Club: Friday. Dec, 19th at 1 pm.(Note Friday this time only).

Holiday Jewelry Workshop - Friday, Dec. 5, 1-3 pm - Come to Calendar House and create a beautiful beaded necklace, quickly and easily. Perfect for gift giving or adding to your own jewelry collection, this design will include handmade African beads, fine crystal and silver. Your cost will be far less than purchasing a similar piece elsewhere. All materials included for $25.00. Beads available in two colors; blue or earth tones. Health & Wellness Program: Tuesday, Dec. 9th at 8:45 a.m. Sister Suzanne Gross, FSE, Administrator of Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care will bring Homemade Franciscan Bread as she presents "Safe at Home", a geriatric home assessment and intervention program designed to help you remain in your home. She will also address your home health care concerns and discuss available programs including the CT Homecare Program for Elders. Call 621-3014 to sign up.

The Southington Health Department is offering a Flu Shot Clinic at Calendar House on Wednesday, December 17th at 9:00 a.m. The Clinic is open to residents of Southington and Plainville, aged 18 years and older. There is no charge. There are a limited number of doses, which will be given on a first come, first served basis.

Thursday, December 18, 2008: mark it on your calendar: The time is 1:00 pm and it'll be time to get in the holiday spirit with the DePaolo Middle School Band and Chorus as they perform your favorite holiday music. Come, enjoy the music, song, coffee, cake and a wonderful opportunity to share the yuletide spirit with your friends! We'll also celebrate December birthdays. Our membership meeting, including the election of officers for 2009, will follow immediately after the concert.

Tickets are sold out for our popular annual Holiday Party which will be held in the Wagon Room at the Aqua Turf on Thurs. Dec. 4th. Family style menu, beginning at noon, includes: Tossed Salad, Penne Pasta, Baked Scrod, Chicken a la Kathryn, Carrots w/maple butter glaze, Roasted Red Potatoes, Rolls & Butter, Beverage and Cherries Jubilee. Entertainment by DJ Jerry Limmer.

Senior Community Café, one of the best kept secrets in Southington, offers a nutritious meal in the Main Hall of C.H. weekdays at noon for a suggested donation of $2.50.
